A pale lemon colour with fragrant fruit with lime and citrus flower aromas. Clean, crisp and attractively flavoured with a vibrant, lingering finish. The citrus flower fruit flavours are ‘up front’ and the crisp, pleasant body is balanced with a clean and vibrant finish.
Serve with lightly spiced aromatic food, Seafood or Asian dishes. Enjoy this as a fresh young wine.
Gold Medal, Canberra District Wine Show 2011.
Judges comments:
“a terrific Germanic style example from Gallagher Wines that captured the judge’s imagination with a lacy, talcy and eminently drinkable and savoury style”
Gallagher Riesling 2011 awarded 96 point by James Halliday.
It is not hard to see why this wine should have been the top gold in its class at the Canberra Regional Wine Show 2011. The flavours on the palate are so intense that they seem to come at you, and linger in the mouth for an extradinarily long time after the wine has gone. Steely acidity is wound through the palate, carrying with it flavours onf lime, grapefruit and apple. An exceptional bargain at $18.00 a bottle – James Halliday
